Osage County man in jail after standoff lasting hours
A man is in jail after a standoff that lasted hours in Osage County Sunday night.
Louis Duncan of Osage County is facing charges after allegedly firing a rifle at his wife and daughter at their home near Chamois. Police collected the bullet, which had gone through two walls in the home. No one was hit by the bullet.
Four guns were seized from Duncan’s home.
Duncan has been found guilty three other times since 1997 for unlawful use of a weapon.
In court documents, his daughter claims he hit her in the face with the butt of his rifle and punched her with his fist.
People in the Chamois area told ABC 17 News Duncan was known to cause trouble. Some said his drinking may have led to the alleged violence.
The standoff happened at the Duncan residence on County Road 207.
Duncan is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, domestic assault in the second degree and armed criminal action. He is being held in the Osage County jail with no bond.
