Case against Osage County Sheriff Michael Dixon to continue

Osage County Sheriff Michael Dixon appeared in court Friday for a preliminary hearing on the felony charge of tampering with a motor vehicle.

The case was bound over and is now going to the circuit court.

Dixon is also charged with sexual misconduct, third-degree assault, harassment and stalking misdemeanors.

Dixon will appear again in court Jan. 3 at 10 a.m. for an arraignment. The defense says they were not surprised by today’s outcome.

“It as not unexpected at all. I thought it would be bound over just based on if Mr. Able did not to give him permission. He told him not to use it because there wasn’t enough gas in the ATV,” said attorney Travis Noble.

The prosecution declined to comment on the outcome.
