Columbia car crash sends 7 people to the hospital
A Wednesday afternoon car crash in Columbia sent seven people to the hospital.
Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Providence Road and Ash Street around 3:15 p.m. for a two-car accident.
Firefighters had to use a hydraulic rescue tool in order to access the damaged rear hatch of a minivan containing eight passengers.
Seven of those passengers were transported to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The eighth person denied medical attention.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident was not injured.
