JC Carmelites move to Clyde
Lawmakers are moving back in, but the Carmelites are moving out of Jefferson City.
The Carmelites held their final mass in Jefferson City Sunday at Saint Joseph’s.
The sisters have been in the Capitol city since 1960. They’re moving to Clyde, just north of Kansas City to be part of a bigger group.
“That is the care-ism of the cloistered sisters to help all of us with whatever difficulties God sends our way, to recognize the power of God’s grace and never lose hope,” said Bishop John Gaydos of the sisters’ new role.
There are only three Carmelites left in Jefferson City.
