Missing Columbia teen has family, friends worried for his safety

A Columbia teen is missing and his family is concerned he could be in trouble.

No one has seen or heard from Brady Scott Brown in almost a week and those searching for him want answers.

Brown had just started a new job at Buckingham Smokehouse Bar-B-Que before he disappeared. Now, he’s missed four shifts.

Those who talked with ABC 17 News say his disappearance is suspicious.

Family and friends are searching near and far to find him.

Taylor Huffman, Brown’s coworker and the last person to see him, dropped the teen off at his friend’s house on Aldeah Drive Tuesday night. She said nothing seemed suspicious at the time, and she thinks he might have just gone on a trip.

Another coworker said she suspects foul play could be involved because he didn’t know the people he was hanging out with very well.

But his mother said all Brown had with him were the clothes on his back and $30 that Huffman had just loaned him. He did not have any debit cards or his contact lenses.

The day after he disappeared, Brown allegedly texted his mother saying, “I’m OK, don’t call the police” and posted on Facebook. But neither his mother, nor Columbia police believe he actually sent the text.

The family will be hosting a search party on Tuesday.
