Man arrested for Columbia burglary

A Columbia man is behind bars for an alleged burglary and theft.

Boone County sheriff’s deputies say they responded to a burglary call in the 5500 block of Sing Drive near the Lake of the Woods around noon Wednesday.

When deputies tried to pull over a car in the area, they say 20-year-old Ty’Ihonn C. Riley led authorities on a pursuit. Deputies later found the car abandoned near the intersection of Lamp Lane and Lightview Drive.

In the car, deputies found several items believed to have been stolen from the home on Sing Drive as well as evidence linking Riley to the crime.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department said Riley was arrested Thursday morning. The location and details of the arrest were not immediately available.

Riley is being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond.

Authorities believe at least one other suspect is on the run.
