Jefferson City church helps laid-off RR Donnelley workers

A Jefferson City church is gong above and beyond to help out laid-off RR Donnelley workers.

Concord Baptist Church held a lunch Thursday for the former RR Donnelley employees and provided them with a free meal and gift cards, as well as financial and emotional counseling.

Counselors from local colleges were also present to speak to those thinking about going back to school.

The church said it wanted to do something to show love to these people who are struggling.

“We just want to serve these people who have served our community for so many years and have just been an integral part of Jefferson City for so long,” said Pastor Jake Taggart.

Around 20 former RR Donnelley employees attended the event.
