Sedalia police arrest member of Mexican Mafia

A member of the Mexican Mafia was arrested Friday in Sedalia.

Albert Amaya, 45, was picked up on a State of California warrant. Amaya was considered armed and dangerous at the time of his arrest.

Authorities in California tipped Sedalia police off to Amaya’s whereabouts. Officers watched a residence and arrested Amaya at gunpoint around 3:43 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 65 and 14th Street.

Amaya was in the Pettis County Jail without bond Saturday, awaiting extradition back to California.
