Price of trash pickup to increase in Jefferson City

Jefferson City residents will see a jump in the price of their trash pickup service next month.

Allied Waste Services says they are charging residents with a 64-gallon cart six dollars more starting in November.

The costs of other carts will also increase by 3 percent.

The increase is in connection to the consumer price index for water, sewer and trash collection, which is maintained by the U.S. Department of Labor.
