Jefferson City police go door-to-door to search for reported gunman

Police in Jefferson City spent part of Monday afternoon searching for a reported gunman.

Officers were called to the 2500 block of Twin Hills Road around 3:30 p.m. for a report of a gunman. The caller told authorities there was a man in dark clothing carrying a shotgun.

Police went door-to-door to notify neighbors, but no one else reported seeing the gunman or anyone suspicious.

As of Monday evening, most officers had left the area after finding no one that matched the description of the gunman.
