Suspects escape in Columbia home robbery

Two home robbery suspects are on the loose after escaping Columbia police early Friday.

Two men knocked on a door at the new student housing, Aspen Heights, near Grindstone Parkway and Highway 63 around midnight.

One of them pointed a gun at the resident, age 20, and escaped with cash in a gray four-door car. A third person was also driving.

Officers found a similar vehicle a few miles south on Ponderosa, but they stopped a high speed chase for safety reasons.

Both suspects are in their 20s and about 6′ tall, between 180 and 200 pounds.
