Graffiti prompts lockdown at Hickman High School

Graffiti on a bathroom wall prompted district officials to lock down Hickman High School Wednesday morning.

According to officials, a custodian found the graffiti on a wall in a bathroom. Following standard procedures, the school went on modified lockdown and restricted access to school buildings.

The lockdown has since been lifted, but the school is still restricting access to the campus. All students are reported to be safe.

School officials are still investigating, but say they take any threat serious, whether it be graffiti, text or social media. There is no word on what message the graffiti contained.

School leaders to not believe the threat is immediate. They say they are trying to determine who did it and when it happened.
