Two men arrested in Sturgeon after police find meth near school

Two Sturgeon men were arrested Monday morning following a drug search warrant near an elementary school.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department and Sturgeon police served the search warrant in the 300 block of Harris Street. Law enforcement found crystal methamphetamine, more than $5,000 in cash, electronic scales and packaging materials.

Police say the residence is within 1,000 feet of Sturgeon Elementary School.

William E. Buckridge, 46, was arrested on a charge of first-degree drug trafficking and could face additional charges after law enforcement found possible stolen property in his possession.

Authorities also arrested Jason W. West, 39, for an outstanding arrest warrant and for meth possession.
