Meat processor reopens after failing inspections

A Mid-Missouri meat processor closed last month for unsanitary conditions is back open, following another review on Wednesday.

Mexico Meat and Produce was originally cited for numerous violations on June 19.

Officials initially found a lot of grease buildup on equipment throughout the facility, along with numerous flies and surfaces covered in dirt and debris.

The building also failed a second inspection in early July.
