Aid pouring in for Montgomery County tornado victims
Aid is pouring in for a New Florence couple after a tornado damaged their home beyond repair last week.
On Sunday night, only ABC 17 News reported how the American Red Cross would no longer be able to help Kelly Morgan and her family. The agency reached their lending limit and could not provide housing for the family any longer.
“We have no place to go,” Morgan told ABC 17 News. “We have no money. We have nothing.”
Officials deemed the home structurally unsafe, so the Morgans cannot even go inside to collect their belongings.
On Monday, several viewers began donating money to the family. Viewers have paid for the family’s motel room at Days Inn in Montgomery City through June 16.
Julie Greeves, the owner of Liquid Restaurant in Montgomery City, told ABC 17 News the restaurant will provide Morgan and her boyfriend with lunch and dinner for the next 30 days.
Morgan says she still needs money, food, clothing, furniture and/or paid nights’ stay at the Days Inn in New Florence.
Those who wish to donate can call Amber Harland at (636) 359-2712 or the Days Inn at (573) 835-7500.
