University of Missouri will award degrees to more than 5,000 students during commencement weekend

The University of Missouri announced Monday more than 5,000 students will receive degrees during the school’s spring commencement weekend.

The university said 5,292 students will earn their degrees May 17-19.

Those degrees include (some students receive more than one degree):

4,128 bachelor’s degrees
1,043 master’s degrees
278 doctorates
36 education specialist degrees
99 medical degrees
102 veterinary medicine degrees

The university will host several honorees and speakers for commencement exercises, including author and Columbia native Peter Hessler, U.S. Senator Roy Blunt, CNN Digital vice president Meredith Artley and Missouri Rep. John Wright.
