Burglary suspect caught in Cole County

Deputies in Cole County have made an arrest in a burglary case.

Around 1 a.m. Thursday, authorities were called to Toms on Lomo Drive for a burglary in progress.

The owner was inside at the time and heard a noise. He investigated and found a subject halfway inside through a broken window.

The owner started yelling and throwing boxes at him.

The suspect fled the scene. A deputy nearby saw the vehicle leave at a high rate of speed and took the suspect into custody without incident.

Security video as well as the owner identified the suspect, who later confessed.

The Cole County Sheriff’s Department has not released the suspect’s name.
