Two C-Stores Cited for Sales

Two Boone County convenience stores were cited Friday night for selling alcohol to a minor.Boone County deputies conducted compliance checks at eight locations between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. Friday. A person (or persons) under age 21 entered the businesses and tried to buy beer under supervision of sheriff deputies.According to a news release Saturday, Joan Smith, an employee of Casey??s General Store on El Chaparral Drive, was cited for the offense of selling intoxicating liquor to a minor. Michael Candelaria, an employee of Kwik Stop on E. St. Charles Road, was also cited.Deputies checked six other businesses throughout the county, all of which complied with alcohol sales laws.
