Stadium Blvd. Work Moves Forward
The Missouri Department of Transportation will move ahead with constructing a diverging diamond interchange in Columbia after a contract was awarded Wednesday.The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $12.7 million contract to Columbia-based Emery Sapp and Sons, Inc. to construct the diverging diamond interchange at Stadium Boulevard and I-70 near the Columbia Mall.The project will widen Stadium Blvd. from north of I-70 to south of Broadway. It will also add two lanes to Bernadette Drive from Fairview Road to Beverly Drive.Construction is set to begin this spring and finish by late 2014. The project is being funded through a cost-share agreement between MoDOT and the City of Columbia.
