Boone County firefighters were called to a barn fire early Monday morning and reported the building to be fully on fire. The scene is about a mile south of Highway 22 and Sturgeon, and is off Highway 63.A passing driver called 911 at around 4:30 a.m. to report seeing flames; the owner of the barn then called 911 after also seeing the fire. An official with the Boone County Fire Protection District on scene says the barn is a total loss, but no one was hurt. The barn had some small farming equipment inside at the time. There is no word on a cause yet, though firefighters are looking into the possibility that it somehow started in a chicken coop next to the barn.Stay with ABC 17 News This Morning and ABC17News.com for the latest updates.
