Woman Assaulted Near Hospital

The University of Missouri Police Department is investigating an assault Wednesday afternoon near the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.Around 1:30 p.m., officers were called to the hospital on North Keene Street for a possible assault.The female victim told police just before 7 a.m., she was walking toward the building when a man approached her from behind, grabbed her wrist, and pressed a hard object against her torso. The victim then used pepper spray against the suspect and he began to flee to the south.The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male, around 5 feet 8 inches tall, stocky build, and wearing dark clothing.MUPD and the Columbia Police Department continue to investigate.
