Child Hit by Truck

***UPDATE 3 P.M.***The 8-year-old girl who was injured in the accident has been treated and released from the hospital.***ORIGINAL STORY***An eight-year-old is in the hospital after being hit by a car in Jefferson City.The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of West McCarty Street.Jefferson City police say the child ran out in front of a truck and was hit. The child was taken to Capitol Region Hospital with moderate to severe injuries. The driver was not injured.
