RB Alum Drowning Confirmed

MARQUETTE, Mich. (AP) – An autopsy report lists accidental drowning as the cause of death for a Northern Michigan University soccer player who was found unresponsive in a campus pool.The school on Friday released the results of the Marquette County medical examiner’s report related to the Nov. 30 death of Arianna Alioto, a freshman midfielder from Columbia, Mo.Officials say there’s no indication of foul play.Alioto was alone in the pool when she was discovered after a team workout. A lifeguard had left when the workout ended.University public safety director Mike Bath says police have completed their investigation and found that Alioto “never left the pool and … no one in the pool or Sports Complex workout areas saw anyone in distress during or at the conclusion of the practice.”
