Murder Case Being Pushed Back

A Columbia teenager’s murder case is being pushed back.Lamarr Mayfield, 16, is accused of shooting and killing 17-year-old Bryan Rankin in April 2012. In August, Mayfield was certified as an adult and is charged with second degree murder and armed criminal action.On Tuesday, a hearing was continued despite a large crowd waiting at the courthouse. His trial was scheduled to begin next week.Mayfield remains in custody at the Boone County Jail on a $500,000 cash-only bond.
