Clampitt for the death of Richard Cobb, Tuesday, the victim’s brother, Jason Cobb said, “we are happy this day is over with and want all involved to know that our hearts go out to the family of James Clampitt, his mother, kids, and new wife. Today they are feeling the pain we felt back on June 13, 2010. Today there was no winner or loser.”***UPDATE TUESDAY 4 P.M.***A Mid-Missouri lawyer has been convicted of two felony charges in the hit-and-run death of a man riding a lawn mower.A jury found James Clampitt of Mexico guilty of involuntary manslaughter and leaving the scene.Sentencing has been set for April 4th in Chariton County Circuit Court, where the case was moved from Audrain County. The jury is recommending a two-and-half year prison sentence.***ORIGINAL STORY***A Mid-Missouri lawyer will be on trial himself for a deadly hit and run accident.The accident happened in Mexico, Missouri in 2010.James Clampitt is charged with involuntary manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.He accused of hitting and killing Richard Cobb, who was on his riding lawn mower.Jury selection starts at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Opening statements are expected to get underway Monday afternoon.
