Columbia business set to host holiday event to help local vendors

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Andrea Lyn Events, a local Columbia business is hosting a Holiday Makers Market event that is focused on helping small businesses while celebrating the upcoming holidays.

Some small businesses have had to make adjustments during the past holiday season due to the pandemic. According to Score.org, 35% of small business owners have had to raise their product pricing by 10% or more due to supply chain disruptions.

Organizers say over 50 vendors are set to be in attendance and they are hoping the one-stop shop event will give more exposure as well as a much-needed economic boost to vendors.

Sunday's event is scheduled to be held at the MU Health Care Pavilion at Columbia's Farmer's Market on Ash Street from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

The event will be selling niche items from wood, jewelry, and quilt makers and will include activities for children.

Organizers also say Sunday's Maker's Market is also the largest local market event for the holiday season. Organizers say they plan to hold two more maker events in 2023.
