COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The updated COVID-19 vaccine is now available at the Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services, according to a Thursday press release from the department.

Appointments to get the new vaccine from Pfizer can be made by calling 573-874-7279, according to the release. Appointments will be held at the PHHS building on 1005 West Worley Street.

The release states the vaccines are billed to insurance and free vaccines are available for those without insurance.

The health department isn’t the only place to get an updated COVID-19 vaccine. MU Health Care has been holding drive-through vaccine events. The next one will be 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at South Providence Medical Park.

Hy-Vee also has the updated vaccine and appointments can be made online.
