Columbia to hold COVID-19 vaccine clinic, as transmission levels increase in Boone County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services Department is set to hold its second 'comfort' clinic Saturday, for children and adults who are anxious about needles or the vaccination process.

The clinic, is set to take place from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the department, at 1005 W. Worley St.

Every COVID-19 vaccine is set to be provided at the clinic Saturday, as officials will be able to administer either a primary or booster dose to both children and adults.

Appointments are required for Saturday's clinic, with sign up's available on the city's website.

The comfort clinic will provide multiple anxiety-reducing activities, as well as private rooms for vaccinations.

This, comes as COVID-19 transmission levels have increased across Mid-Missouri.

According to new data released Friday by the state, Boone County has moved into the 'medium transmission' level.

Latest COVID-19 data shows Boone County in the 'medium transmission' level.

Boone County is joined by Cooper, Howard, Chariton, Randolph and Macon County among others, in moving to the medium transmission level.

Statewide, both cases and hospitalizations have ticked up, in the state's most recent data.
