One killed in Interstate 70 crash near Clark Lane

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A crash Thursday night on Interstate 70 killed a Columbia man, police said.

Lacy Jordan, 67, died in the crash that happened at about 10 p.m. at the 130-mile marker of eastbound I-70 near the Clark Lane exit, according to a Columbia Police Department news release. Jordan was not wearing a seat belt.

The crash happened when a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Bradon Darris, 51, of Jefferson City, had mechanical issues while it was in the driving lane and was hit from behind by a Ford F750 truck driven by Michael Landis, 52, of Mexico, Missouri.

Darris' vehicle came to a stop against the media cable, police said. Jordan, a passenger in the backseat, was pronounced dead at the scene.
