CPS summer school begins Thursday, includes driver’s education

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) Summer school will begin on Thursday for Columbia Public Schools students. More than 9,800 students will attend summer school this year, which runs through June 26, according to an email from district spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark and information from the district’s website. The email stated the district’s driver’s education course returns this session.

Jefferson City man accused of assaulting pregnant woman

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ) A Jefferson City man was charged with domestic assault and other felonies after he allegedly assaulted a pregnant woman on Tuesday. Ediberto Estrada was charged with first-degree domestic assault, second-degree kidnapping, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, first-degree harassment and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Charges dismissed for fraternity member accused in Santulli hazing case

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) A felony charge against a former University of Missouri fraternity member accused in the hazing of Danny Santulli has been dismissed without prejudice, according to an email from Boone County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Nicholas Komoroski. Benjamin Parres, of Chesterfield, was charged with felony hazing. Komoroski stated that Parres entered a deferral agreement,
