PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Authorities in Pakistan say that a suicide bomber has rammed his explosive-laden car into a vehicle in the northwest of the country. The blast on Tuesday killed five Chinese nationals and their Pakistani driver. Police said that the attack happened in the Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Officials said the five killed were construction workers and engineers. Thousands of Chinese nationals are in Shangla working on projects relating to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The initiative is a lifeline for Pakistan’s cash-strapped government which is currently facing one of the country’s worst economic crises.
