The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Southeastern Maries County in central Missouri…
Northern Phelps County in east central Missouri…

* Until 915 AM CDT.

* At 747 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 5 inches of rain
have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional
rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Rolla, St. James, Doolittle, Northwye, Vichy and Rosati.

This includes the following low water crossings…
Montogue Creek at Highway E, Montague Creek at County Road 510 and
Mill Creek at County Road 521.
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
