Tracking another round of storms Friday

TODAY: Friday is another ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day, as afternoon storms pose another risk for damaging winds. Temperatures will be a little warmer than Thursday in the absence of widespread morning rainfall. Some showers and thunderstorms appear possible this morning, but coverage will be less than on Thursday. Temperatures will depend on rain coverage, but should land in the mid-to-upper 80s ahead of afternoon storm chances. Much like Thursday, storms will begin to develop this afternoon, potentially becoming severe by the dinner hour. Coverage of storms and intensity will increase into the early evening. Damaging wind is our main threat.

TONIGHT: Storms will persist into the overnight, but the severe threat should wane around midnight. Training thunderstorms may contribute to a flood threat overnight.

EXTENDED: Showers linger early Saturday, but drier weather is expected by the afternoon. This should be the last of this active pattern, as we transition to sunny and warm conditions next week. We may be partly cloudy on Sunday, but mostly sunny skies are forecast Monday through Thursday. Temperatures will range from the upper 80s at the end of the weekend, to the low 90s through the middle of next week.
