Mazzulla: Celtics ‘can’t rush trust’ in wake of Udoka ban

CANTON, Mass. (AP) — The Celtics were supposed to enter the preseason as one of the favorites to emerge from the Eastern Conference on the heels of their surprise run to the NBA Finals last season under rookie head coach Ime Udoka. Then came Udoka’s suspension. Boston interim coach Joe Mazzulla says he’ll take his time giving people time to “feel and heal.” He spoke Monday at Celtics media day. None of the players who addressed the media said they had spoken with Udoka since his suspension was announced.
