Cold and dry today with a chance of accumulating snow by tomorrow evening

MONDAY: We stay dry with cloud cover lingering and temperatures once again struggling to warm much above freezing in the afternoon. A north breeze at 5-8 mph will give us wind chills in the teens in the morning and 20s in the afternoon.

TONIGHT: Clouds hang around tonight as temperatures dip back into the low 20s by morning. Northeast winds up to 7 mph will create for a bit of a wind chill through the morning. It should feel like the mid to upper teens. Bundle up!

EXTENDED: The first part of Tuesday looks dry, but we’ll be tracking our next round of winter weather by the afternoon. As a low pressure system lifts northeast, it will bring the return of snow back to Mid-Missouri, developing by late afternoon in the Ozarks and spreading northeast through the evening. Accumulations look likely with possible slick roads by late Tuesday. By 10 PM snow accumulation will be up to 1″. Overnight, snow will gradually change to freezing rain and drizzle before ending and ice accumulation is possible by early Wednesday morning. Ice accumulation looks more likely in our southeastern counties, but only a few hundredths up to .1″ is expected. Snow accumulation will be higher to the north and west where up to 4-6″ is possible. Most areas on average will see 2-3″. Precipitation moves out Wednesday morning and by the afternoon temperatures make it back above freezing, into the upper 30s. Temperatures will gradually warm up throughout the week, with a chance at seeing 50 degrees by next weekend, with the unsettled pattern continuing and more rain or mix chances.
