Tracking widely scattered rain for the holiday weekend

Today: Foggy to start with showers possible southeast of Hwy 54. This activity will remain confined to our southeast counties, but a cold front is also tracking in from the north today. That will bring a very isolated chance for storms in the late afternoon to folks to the northeast; overall, expect most of Mid-MO to stay dry today. Highs in the mid-80s in the driest areas.

Tomorrow: More chances for scattered showers across all of central Missouri, but similar to Saturday our southern counties see the most rain. Again, expect more dry time than not with highs holding steady in the lower 80s.

Labor Day: Rain is still possible across our southern counties for the holiday thanks to a stubborn low pressure system. Overall rain chances dwindle by Monday so don't cancel all those outdoor plans! Highs remain seasonable under cloudy skies in the mid to lower 80s.

Extended: Next week is full of low-end chances for rain as the low pressure system is cut off from the main stream and slowly sinks southward. Most rainfall comes during peak heating in the afternoon when the atmosphere is most unstable, and you should still expect much of the week to stay dry. Temperatures also remain right on target this time of year in the mid-80s all week.
