City of Columbia delays Wednesday trash pickup
Columbia trash and recycling routes will be canceled Wednesday because of expected extreme cold.
The city of Columbia said in a news release that its Solid Waste Utility will cancel curbside pickup, delaying Wednesday, Thursday and Friday routes for one day.
Low temperatures overnight Tuesday and Wednesday morning are expected to fall into negative territory with wind chills from minus-20 to minus-30 degrees. Several counties in mid-Missouri have been placed under a wind chill warning by the National Weather Service. The warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
