Man arrested after high speed pursuit ends on Oakland Church Road

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department confirms a man is arrested after bringing law enforcement officers on a high speed pursuit Sunday afternoon.

34-year-old Ryan Gambill was arrested for tampering with a motor vehicle in the 1st degree, stolen credit devices, forgery, resisting arrest and drugs.

The chase lasted about 20 minutes through northern Columbia and parts of northern Boone County and finally ended on Oakland Church Road in Boone County.

Sergeant Tracey Cleeton said the silver vehicle was reported stolen. A deputy tried to pull the car over but the driver failed to stop.

A pursuit began involving the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Columbia Police Department and Boone County Sheriff’s Department.

Cleeton said a tire deflation device was effectively used to stop the car.

The driver was the only person in the vehicle and did not sustain any injuries.

Gambill is currently being held in the Boone County Jail.
