Man who ran from Moniteau County authorities turns himself in

A man who ran from Moniteau County deputies turned himself in on Thursday.

Dalton K. Fisher allegedly fled from police Monday in his vehicle after they attempted to pull him over. Fisher tried to drive through a low water crossing, which caused his vehicle to flood, the Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

Fisher then jumped out of the vehicle, and the deputy was unable to get close to him due to the high, fast-moving water.

“The deputy then ordered the suspect several times to show him his hands in which the suspect then turned towards the deputy and took a shooting stance toward the deputy who then shot at the suspect,” the release said.

Fisher then fled the scene, and K9 units as well as other deputies were called out to search. After searching through Fisher’s vehicle, deputies found meth, drug packing materials and scales as well as an AR-15 rifle and a fully loaded shotgun.

Fisher is being held on a $75,000 bond in the Moniteau County Jail.
