Tracking a pattern that keeps things mild
TODAY: Another calm and clear start will drop some into the 50s, with more potential for patchy fog this morning. Later today, partly cloudy skies will develop again today with more cumulus clouds by late morning. Overall, it's a very similar day to Monday, with highs in the mid-80s.
TONIGHT: Overnight, clouds will deteriorate, and skies will return to a mostly clear state. Temperatures start Wednesday in the low-to-mid 60s.
EXTENDED: On Wednesday, temperatures are warming slightly into the upper 80s with similar conditions to Tuesday. Thursday is the first big change up to the forecast with temperatures close to 90 as low to mid level winds increase out of the south. This comes just as an upper level wave tries to bring a disturbance through the Mississippi river valley. Right now, rain chances look best near northeast Missouri and central Illinois, but slim rain chances do exist in mid-Missouri. Timing here is also a big question, as some data suggests we may see this disturbance on Friday. Rain chances are currently less than 20% for both days, but may increase once there is better agreement in timing. By Saturday, rain chances grow as a larger system approaches from the northwest. This will bring isolated storm chances Saturday and Sunday before a better chance at scattered storms on Monday. Temperatures through early next week remain in the mid-80s.
