Tracking late afternoon storms Friday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and comfortable with lows in the lower 60s.

TOMORROW: Increasing clouds and warm with highs in the mid-80s. Showers and storms return by late afternoon or early evening and could bring isolated gusty winds.

EXTENDED: After another beautiful day, we drop back into the lower 60s with a few more clouds building in tomorrow afternoon. We make it to the mid-upper 80s before a cold front slowly works into northwest Missouri by afternoon. Scattered showers and storms are possible by late afternoon into the evening, and some could produce isolated gusty winds, especially for our few northwestern counties before sunset. Scattered storms are possible overnight into Saturday morning ahead of the front. We'll likely have some dry time for the first half of the day on Saturday, but the increase in humidity will be noticeable. We'll have plenty of fuel for another round of storms to get going by mid-late afternoon along the front, likely developing and exiting between 3:00 and 9:00 p.m.. The front slowly works south Saturday night into Sunday, leaving us largely dry on Sunday. There's a chance for a stray shower for our southern counties near the Lake early in the day, but most areas will stay dry and we'll end up with a comfortable day with highs in the lower 80s. Rain amounts will be between 0.5" and 0.75". Next week looks awesome with a similar upper pattern with northwest wind flow. We're looking dry through most of the week with highs in the lower to mid-80s and lows in the 60s at night.
