Tracking pleasant weather next few days, weekend rain chances

TONIGHT: Mostly clear with lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

TOMORROW: Beautiful and mostly sunny with light winds and highs in the low to mid-80s.

EXTENDED: We'll have a gorgeous couple of days with continued upper level winds coming from the northwest, bringing in cooler than average temperatures through the end of the wee with highs in the lower to mid-80s through Friday. We'll be tracking a cold front moving in from the northwest Thursday night into Friday, bringing a few showers across northwest Missouri on Friday morning. Showers and storms will be possible Friday night into Saturday morning, with more development along the front as it drapes across Mid-Missouri Saturday afternoon into the evening. This strong storm system hangs around through Sunday with low pressure spinning to our northeast, and that will keep a chance of showers and storms around with plenty of dry time in between. Rain amounts will add up to about a half-inch. Temperatures over the weekend will remain in the lower 80s for highs during the day and low 60s at night. Next week starts off cooler than average with the jet stream continuing to bring in northwesterly flow.
