MU Health Care, SSM Health hold second open forum about potential merger

Leaders at University of Missouri Health Care and SSM Health will be holding the second of three open forums Wednesday to talk about a potential merger and the future of health care in mid-Missouri.

The two health care systems previously signed a letter of intent to transfer ownership of SSM Health to MU Health Care.

Leaders with the systems said they are in the due diligence process to further define the details of the potential merger, and these forums are a part of it.

The organizations want community members to go to the forums and ask questions and hear directly from SSM Health and MU Health Care leadership.

The forum on Wednesday will be held at the Presser Black Box Theater in Mexico at 8 a.m.
