Frosty start Monday leads to a sunny & seasonal afternoon!

TONIGHT: High pressure settles overhead this evening. This will lead to calm winds and very cold temperatures– along with that we’ll see a bit of low level moisture which will help generate some thick frost as your head out the door on Monday. Temps fall in the low teens overnight.

MONDAY: Because of the frost early on tomorrow morning, I’d suggest you give yourself at least an extra five minutes to clear off your car windows. Get the kids bundled up… It’s all about a wintry feel as you head out the door Monday. Thankfully with lots of sunshine we’re quick to warm up. We’ll touch 40 degrees tomorrow afternoon, with light westerly breezes.

EXTENDED: The warming trend looks to continue. Expect temperatures in the mid and upper 40s Tuesday and Wednesday, with increasing rain chances following by midweek. Widespread rain chances look to be decreasing, and it would seem the best chance of seeing any substantial rains will be across southeastern Mid-Missouri. Snow looking like less and less of an issue as we get closer, too. Of course there will be some changes, so stay with ABC 17 News as we continue to fine tune our tracks and forecasts.
