Woman attempts to smuggle cocaine through body into Callaway County Jail

Callaway County deputies said a woman who had been arrested, attempted to smuggle drugs into the Callaway County Jail on Saturday.

Angela Poulsen, 42, of Kansas City, was arrested earlier on Saturday by an outside agency and transported to the Callaway County Jail, according to deputies.

Jail staff initiated an investigation into Poulsen, believing she possibly possessed drugs on her person.

Staff found that Poulsen had cocaine and a second controlled substance hidden within a body cavity.

The Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Poulsen with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with a court-set bond of $9,000.

Poulsen later posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.
