Mid-Missouri Business Week: Holiday season brings boost to Columbia economy
With the holiday season approaching, the city of Columbia is getting busy with events. More than 40 downtown stores participated in Living Windows Dec. 7, in which the store owners set up live performances in their windows.
Events like Living Windows spur an increase in tourism in mid-Missouri. This tourism brings a boost to the city’s economy each year.
The manager of strategic communication at the Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau said the events and the shopping provide the main draw to Columbia.
