Pedestrian hit by SUV in Jefferson City

A Jefferson City man suffered serious injuries when he was hit by an SUV while crossing a street Thursday night.

Deion Brown, 19, was crossing East McCarty Street at Chestnut Street when he was hit by a 2004 Chevrolet Tracker driven by Donna Branch, 65, of Jefferson City, at about 6 p.m. the Jefferson City Police Department said in a news release. Branch suffered minor injuries.

Brown was taken by ambulance to a Columbia hospital for treatment.
