Cold air makes itself welcome for the weekend
FRIDAY: With partial sunshine, we’ll still only make it to 32 degrees Friday afternoon with a northeast breeze at 4-7 mph.
TONIGHT: Under partly cloudy skies temperatures will drop to a chilly 22 degrees by morning. Winds out of the northeast from 6-8 mph will drop wind chills into the mid teens through early Saturday.
EXTENDED: The cold air sticks around into the weekend, keeping us in the low to mid 30s for highs under mostly cloudy skies. A southern storm system will bring a chance of snow south of I-44 but it looks like it will miss Mid-Missouri except for some snow flurries possibly in the Ozarks. However, those traveling south Saturday should be aware of wintry weather in far southern Missouri into northern Arkansas with several inches of snow possible. Past Sunday, we’ll start warming up with high temperatures above freezing by Monday and in the low to mid 40s Tuesday and Wednesday. Unsettled weather returns for the second half of next week with rain possible Wednesday and again Thursday night into Friday.
