Multiple drug busts in Moniteau County

The Moniteau County Sheriff’s Department made two drug arrests on Sunday after they found individuals in possession of meth and marijuana in California, Missouri.

Deputies arrested Kurt R. Catron, 32, on Sunday after he provided them with a false name. Catron was taken to the sheriff’s office so police could positively identify him. He then told police he had drugs on him, and police found a “substantial amount” of meth as well as needles and other drug items, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office.

Catron is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Deputies also arrested Jacob P. Murphy, 35, on Sunday after they tried to tell him he had a flat tire. The deputy recognized Murphy from other incidents and knew Murphy’s license was suspended. Murphy was also on probation. A K9 unit was called to the scene and found meth and marijuana in the vehicle.

Murphy is being held on a $50,000 bond.
