Three charged in Jefferson City armed robbery
Three men were charged on Monday after they allegedly robbed someone at gunpoint in Jefferson City.
According to court documents, Cortez Burton, 18, Andrew Dixson, 27, and Jamel Sutton, 20, were driving in the 1600 block of E. Elm Street on Sunday when they saw a man walking on the sidewalk. Sutton was driving the car and pulled the vehicle next to the victim, the documents said. The men then exited the car, hitting the victim with the door, and robbing the victim at gunpoint.
Burton allegedly removed items from the victim’s pockets while another person held the victim at gunpoint.
The suspects then fled from the scene and were later stopped by an officer on Tanner Bridge Court.
Burton and Dixson denied any involvement in the robbery. Sutton admitted to the robbery.
All three men were charged with first-degree robbery.
